  • Reduced dues to join now; $20

President Report

  • August Meeting Info
  • September will be the great Phx Modern Sewing Bee Season 2
    • Here is last year’s flyer if you need a refresher on the rules:
    • The meeting will be held at Mulqueens unless otherwise announced (yes, we know it was small today…)
    • Block will be announced Sat Sept 9th
    • Rules will be posted/handed out in August (same rules as last time, see above)
  • Yard Sale Oct 21 in lieu of meeting
    • Teresa organizing – a huge thank you!
    • Tech Shop will be hosting us in the largest room
    • Aug 1 early bird table special, $15, guild only; there will be an email coming out with the password
    • Sept 1, open to anyone to get a table for $25
    • Come shop, host a table sell any sort of craft supplies
    • Little bundles and kits have done well at other sales
    • Up to sellers for payment types
  • Need volunteers to take over the board for 2018

    • Each position is elected independently, members must be present at the November meeting to vote – no absentee ballots will be accepted, in accordance with our by-laws

  • Approval of May 2017 meeting minutes
  • A huge “thank you” for hosting us in this lovely classroom! Make sure to ask for a tour and check out the long arm – this is a great option if you’re interested in getting into longarming or finishing some of your quilts but don’t want to invest in buying your own machine! Reach out to Erynn via the secretary email if you have any questions.
  • We will make sure to announce when we have worked through the details for getting a corporate rate for the guild – if you’d like to join the TechShop please email Erynn at secretary@phoenixmodernquiltguild.com so we have an accurate count for negotiations.

President Report

  • July Meeting will be at Mulqueens and we will be doing quilt on charity quilt block sewing
  • August will be Demo Day – fill out this form if you are willing to do a demo. Likely will be back at tech shop for demo day.

  • Thank you to all members who braved the heat! Who knew March would be so unseasonably hot on the third Saturday?! We put in a request for more pleasant weather, but I guess it wasn’t processed in time 😉
  • Introduction of new members & guests

Secretary Report

  • Approval of February 2017 meeting minutes

  • Last chance to sign up for Latifah class!
    • If you group ordered, I have your supplies upon payment
    • If you are attending, make sure to review the project page for final details and prep before class!
    • We will be meeting at Mulqueens Clubhouse, 10-5 with a break for lunch
    • There are a couple areas set for ironing and cutting, but we suggest bringing your own iron/cut station.
  • Just a reminder, for the most up-to-date information on our PHX Guild, refer to the blog. It’s updated the most frequently, and since not everyone does the social media thing, it’s the best place for me to devote efforts
    • The events calendar is up to date! Locations and times for upcoming events are listed on the Events page, as well as in the live calendar on the page.
    • IG is somewhat monitored – we try to post reminders, but with the new feed style, you might not see everything
    • FB – we are still having issues with Admin access, so it might not be the best place to get a hold of an officer
    • Emails are monitored pretty regularly if you have a question
  • Wee-treat class voting email was sent, missing a 4 responses as of Friday, voting will close April 1, and in the event of a tie, I’ll flip a coin. Once the class has been decided, there will be another email with supply information sent.
  • Amber will auto-check in ppl for wee treat, there will be a communication coming from her soon.
