The first part of July’s Epic Show and Tell focused on projects from the MQG Michael Miller Challenge. Everyone then voted for the crowd favorite with Guinevere coming in first, Denise second, and Michelle & Becca tying for 3rd place. We are proud to announce that Michelle made it to the top 9 in the MQG Challenge! The top 3 winners should be announced soon.
April was a busy meeting with lots of activity.
We had presentations on the MQG Site, the Michael Miller Challenge, and the Dear Stella Modern Traditional Challenge.
We got to see the results of the Vitamin D Bee.
We swapped quilted potholders.
We learned how to make Economy Blocks and what size to bring in May for our charity quilt(s).
And of course we racked up inspiration during show and tell including a peek at a few things that we can’t show yet from members Lisa and Cristy.
Can’t wait to see you at the May meeting on Saturday, May 17th at Scrapbooks ETC!
We shared a lot at the February meeting! Upcoming events, cupcakes, cookies, quilts, polka dot bags, and a new design board. Here is Bonnie showing off one of the many uses we will have for the board in upcoming meetings.
Polka dots abounded at the February PHXMQG meeting! Twelve swappers brought polka dot zipper bags of all shapes and sizes.
Vanessa shared some adorable Valentine’s Day pillows featuring chalk board fabric centers and fabric confetti letters.
Barb shared her Radio Way quilt top in fresh blue, yellow, green, and gray.
Nancy shared a tote bag she made with an Art Cloth interfacing. Tip from Nancy, though the bag pattern came with the Art Cloth two or more layers is a challenge to sew through.
Stephanie shared a delightful table runner she made using a Quick Curves rule she won.
Sarah made an applique Christmas wall hanging for her home. Left with an empty space once the season was over she’s planning on new wall-hanging for each season and brought along her Valentine’s Day hst wall-hanging as well.
Michelle found a good use for a Candy size (2.5″ square) charm pack. She combined it with white and yellow for this baby quilt.
Theresa shared a lovely quilt she made for her sister. It sat complete for a while so she is finishing up the binding.
Guest Tricia said she wasn’t sure if she was a quilter yet, look at this fantastic quilt she made and see what you think. 🙂
Thank you everyone for sharing and inspiring everyone!
And look at the quilt top that Tracy made to donate to victims of the Yarnell fire.
Last weekend PHXMQG had a sew in which several members attended. I wasn’t there to get photos so I have stolen a few from instagram and such to share with you. Here is Alissa’s fabulous “Birth of Venus” quilt!
Here are Becca and Danny and I think Alyssa is in the back at the Sew In.
